Deviated septum and “plastic surgery” ?

Question by : Deviated septum and "plastic surgery" ?
I busted my nose quite a while back and since then it is practically collapsed underneath. Today an ENT doctor told me i have a deviated septum and is sending me in for X-rays to see how much work he needs to do. That said, although the bridge of my nose was and remains very straight, since the incident occurred it sits up higher than before(you can actually see the skin discoloration now where the nose begins) and looks "bigger". Im not vain, but all the same id like to have my original nose back. I cant imagine the insurance company will cover the cosmetic aspects, so what would a ball park figure be of what i might be expected to pay an addition. Would an ENT doctor give a discount on the cosmetic since it was essentially caused by the medical? I live in south Texas if it helps.
Thank you

I think it depends on your doctor. If you are looking for cosmetic corrections, you may not want your ENT doing the cosmetic side of the surgery. Any doctor can call themselves a cosmetic surgeon. However, board-certified plastic surgeons have to go through additional training in order to obtain certification. Additionally, not all plastic surgeons are create equal. An inexperienced cosmetic surgeon could potentially make matters worse. Just food for thought! You can check for your doctor on The American Society of Plastic Surgeons website.
